Larix is a very loving younger lady who just wants to please her person. She just gazes at you with those big eyes, as to ask what would you like to do today. Very utilitarian she loves to be with her people doing whatever they like to do!
If Larix was a human, her foster thinks that she would be a professional runner. It doesn’t matter if it is with her person, or zoomies around the yard this girl is running 100 miles an hour whenever she gets the chance! As for her personality, she is affectionate, busy, and consistently on the search for new things. It is like she is some sort of lovey-dovey Indian Jones dog, wanting a new and exciting adventure with her human every day! She does settle around the house and just wants to be next to you during that time.
During car rides, Larix does well and enjoys watching the world zoom by her window. She is well mannered at the vets’ office and while loud noises seem to startle her and she does show some sensitivity towards them, she recovers rather quickly. When out and about in public she is aloof around strangers but her friendly side will come out the longer she knows someone. Around other dogs, she can be pushy and show dominant behavior traits so slow introductions are key.
During Larix’s time in foster, she has mastered Sit, Down, and Wait commands. She is still working on loose leash walking and solidifying her recall. During training sessions her number one motivator is food, this girl loves to work for food! Around the house, she is house-trained but will counter-surf and rummage through the garbage if left unsupervised. #MightBePartTrashPanda Larix is crate trained, but has deconstructed the bed in her crate before, so she may need to have her bedding choices monitored.
Larix is looking for her forever home that will continue her training and help her be the best running partner in the world. Just like with any rescue dog it takes time to adjust and for them to be comfortable around their new human and home, so if you are willing to give a little time and put a little effort into Larix she will pay it back 100 fold!
