Location: Philomath, OR

Meru is a super affectionate girl who is friendly to all people and dogs who she comes across in life.  Additionally, she is very loveable and loyal to her person as well.  If given the opportunity she would just be your shadow following you around everywhere everyday forever.

If Meru were human her foster thinks she would be a professional rugby player, as she is agile and extremely athletic.  She loves playing with other dogs and is very sociable with almost all animals that she has seen.  Her playstyle is mostly wrestling with her foster siblings, but she will also play fetch or tug of war with them as well.  Her primary motivators in day-to-day life are affection and food, she loves a good treat from time to time.  #DontWeAll

Meru loves car rides and is over the moon happy to ride in the car even if it is a short ride just down the street.  She is well mannered at the vets’ office and everyone loved her.  She does alright with loud noises, she will look to her handler for safety if she gets spooked but calms down easily with reassurance that everything is going to be ok.  One of the things that Meru does that makes her foster laugh is she can jump very high when going to catch a ball when playing fetch and the WWE wrestling matches that she gets in with her foster sister as well.

During Meru’s time in foster, she has mastered the Sit command, has great recall, wonderful leash manners, and is potty trained as well.  She is still working on the Stay and Down commands, not invading your personal space 24/7, and perfecting crate training too.  Meru is not a plug-and-play type of dog; she is still working on polishing her house manners as she will find things to chew if left around the house, try to counter surf for a tasty morsel, can be pushy for affection.

Meru is looking for her forever home which will continue her training and deserves nothing but the world.  With her athletic ability, she might be a good candidate for agility or frisbee sports.  Her future home could have another dog in it as she loves playing with her foster sister, older kids might be ok with her but with her rambunctiousness, it will probably be too much for little kids.  So, if you have some room in your home, heart, and some time for quality training for your new BFF then apply for Meru!

Adoption Donation: $500.00

Transport along Interstate 5 (Rowland Heights, CA to Edmonds, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.

For all inquiries, please fill out our adoption application first, as the volunteer answering emails is probably not the coordinator for the specific foster home/dog.
