Are you looking for a cuddly, fearless, environmentally sound, pup that loves everybody? Well, look no further than Petey! This super pup will try anything, is smart, curious, and so resilient. Aside from being 100% adorable, he is also at the perfect age where you can mold him into anything. But don’t let his good looks fool you, he has beauty AND brains! He loves to learn and with his high desire to please, training is fun and rewarding for both him and his handler.
Petey loves to play with his foster siblings and has shown appropriate social responses to their direction and correction. Exploring is a favorite activity and recently discovered the agility equipment in his foster home. He navigated the tunnel with ease and even went up the ramp a bit. His second favorite activity would have to be chewing, so lots of supervision and having plenty of puppy-appropriate toys around will help him continue to know what items are ok to chew.
Petey is working on potty and crate training, rides well crated in the car, is well-mannered at the vets’ office, and is not bothered by loud noises. He has a wonderful off-switch and will happily curl up for some cuddles on the couch when it’s time to wind down for the day. He was introduced to a cat and showed some initial interest but then went back to interacting and playing with his people. He was fine, but mouthy when meeting an 8yr od child so constant monitoring and setting boundaries will be required as with all puppies and children.
His perfect home will be free from chaos, moderately active, and willing to continue his training. He will need clear boundaries and lots of structure so he will continue to be set up for long-term success. He loves to use his nose and is handler focused so could also be a great candidate for Rally, Agility, Scent work, etc.
