Scarlett might just be the perfect companion with the cutest face we have ever come across.  She is past the puppy stage in both age and actually having puppies.  #TeenageMomAFewTimes  Now, her time is all about her and finding the best home that wants to pet her and give her all the love in the world.  Sometimes, she is slightly aloof and isn't really a fan of training but is willing to soak up all the love you can send her way.  #LoveSponge

If Scarlett was a human, her foster mom thinks that she would make the world's best companion or office pal.  Just imagine your work BFF who has four legs and sheds magical Malinois glitter all over the house!  Currently, she resides with two resident female dogs and another foster who is male, and they all coexist well together.  She can be stubborn sometimes with both other dogs and humans. Also, if she isn’t a fan of what is going on around her, she will let you know by doing the classic Maligator teeth clacking.  It is usually around her aloof foster brother, who cannot seem to understand she doesn’t want to play with him 24/7.  Additionally, she will use it as a form of communication with her person as well, mostly defending her side of the “argument.”

Scarlett does not love getting in the car but will crate up well and is great in her crate.  During her most recent vet’s office visit, she was unsure but did well. The hustle and bustle of loud public places brings out her timid side and can cause her to be distracted. Food can help bring her attention back to her handler briefly, but her engagement remains lax.

Scarlett is currently working on her basic skills, leash manners, and not counter surfing. She is also working diligently and making great strides to overcome some very slight dog reactivity towards strange dogs. She sleeps in her crate at night but will voice her displeasure of being crated at times during the day. A Ruffland is the best crate option for her.

Scarlett is looking for her breed-savvy forever home, which will continue her training to make sure she gets the mental and physical exercise she needs.  She could be in a home with older, respectful kids, as she can be somewhat mouthy during playtime. Due to her prey drive a home without cats or other small animals and no small children would be best. She may enjoy a respectful older dog to pal around with but not a requirement

Adoption Donation: $500.00

Transport along Interstate 5 (Rowland Heights, CA to Edmonds, WA) is available but cost not included in adoption fee.

For all inquiries, please fill out our adoption application first, as the volunteer answering emails is probably not the coordinator for the specific foster home/dog.
